PRESS RELEASE -
'Goodfellow gear up for property revival'
The property slowdown has given one Ayrshire firm of estate agents the opportunity to
get their house in order.
Goodfellow Estate Agents have embarked on a programme of upgrading or extending
all six offices across the group.
The company will celebrate 60 years in business with a series of improvement projects at
Ayr, Kilmarnock, Kilwinning and Saltcoats.
The other two branches – at Irvine and Troon – have already undergone considerable
change.
Irvine`s bank Street premises were given a new look earlier this year and the Troon office has moved from Portland Street to a more spacious unit at The Cross. The company-wide revamp coincides with new signage and the introduction of stronger branding. Refurbishment will be carried out at Kilwinning and Saltcoats in the new year while major development work will start at the bigger Kilmarnock and Ayr outlets. The Kilmarnock office, directly opposite the railway station, will have £250,000 spent on it as part of the town centre regeneration scheme set up by East Ayrshire Council and Historic Scotland.
Goodfellow House, as it has become known, is in line for a new frontage and the restoration of several historical features around the building. The Ayr office, in Beresford Terrace, will be expanded into adjacent car park. Planning permission has been granted for an extension which will allow staff greater working space in this busy part of town. * Extract taken from Ayrshire Post, Irvine Herald and Kilmarnock Standard 12/09/08 *
